30 Days of Kink: Day 17 redux

What misconception about kinky people would you most like to clear up?

Last time I mentioned the idea that sexual fantasies reflect on your actual morality, which is still pretty much number one.

Followingthe theme of yesterday, I’d also like to clear up the misconception that any kink expression is automatically a ‘scene’ and therefore automatically equivalent to ‘actually having sex’. A scene is not the same as having sex (though it can be), and doing something kinky is not necessarily a scene.

Kink is an identity just as much as gay is, and I’m really sick of people recycling homophobic arguments and insisting that it’s totally different just because they’re targeting kinksters instead of gay people this time.
